Artificial Intelligence: How It Works and Its Limits

AVA is an AI assistant specialized in audiovisual production, developed by Proxia Studio. It runs on Google DeepMind's Gemini model (2.0 Flash, 2.5 Flash, or 2.5 Pro depending on the subscription plan) and uses vector embeddings for semantic search within a dedicated audiovisual knowledge base.

AVA is transparently identified as an artificial intelligence system across the entire Proxia Studio platform. Users interact with an automated system, not a human.

• •Analyzes the structure of editing project files (DRP, XML, PRPROJ) and extracts their structural metadata
• •Detects technical anomalies: audio issues, desynchronization, pacing breaks, integrity inconsistencies
• •Generates an integrity score from 0 to 100, reflecting the structural consistency of the analyzed project
• •Answers questions about audiovisual practices and techniques (editing, sound, shooting, distribution)
• •Offers contextual feedback on projects uploaded by the user
• •Generates to-do lists to support project progress

• •No autonomous decisions: AVA does not make any decision on behalf of the user. Its analyses are support tools, not directives.
• •Indicative results: AVA can be wrong. Its analyses are indicative and not certified. Users must always verify the results provided.
• •Metadata only: AVA does not have access to actual media files (images, videos, audio tracks). It only analyzes the structural metadata of project files.
• •No official assessment: In an educational context, AVA's feedback is a learning and progress support tool. The final assessment decision belongs exclusively to the designated instructor or supervisor. AVA is not an official academic assessment system.
• •No cross-session memory by default: AVA does not retain conversations between sessions, unless the user explicitly enables the user-memory feature.
• •Variability of results: The quality and accuracy of analyses may vary depending on the completeness and structure of the project file provided.

Proxia Studio is developed in compliance with the European Regulation on artificial intelligence (AI Act, EU Regulation 2024/1689), which has been phasing in progressively since 2024. Proxia Studio acts as a provider of an AI system within the meaning of this regulation.

AVA is transparently identified as an AI system across the entire platform, in line with the AI Act's transparency obligations. Its use falls under a minimal to limited risk level under the classification established by the regulation, which primarily entails transparency obligations toward users.

AVA does not carry out any high-risk processing within the meaning of Annex III of the regulation.

AVA only processes the structural metadata of your editing project files (clip names, timecodes, timeline structure, tracks, markers, etc.). It does not analyze any biometric data or any sensitive personal data within the meaning of Article 9 of the GDPR.

Processing is carried out on servers hosted within the European Union (Ireland) via Railway for the backend and Supabase for the database. Requests sent to the Google Gemini API are governed by a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) compliant with the GDPR. For more information, see our privacy policy.
